A dramatic scene unfolded in the Raval Roig neighbourhood of Alicante as a car overturned on Calle Jovellanos, near Topete Square. Passersby near the busy El Postiguet beach gathered to watch as emergency services responded to the incident, which temporarily brought the area to a standstill.
Local Police and firefighters from the Alicante City Council’s Fire Prevention, Extinction, and Rescue Service (SPEIS) were quickly dispatched to the site of the crash. Upon arrival, emergency crews secured the area while firefighters worked to right the vehicle before it could be removed from the road.
Despite the shocking nature of the accident, witnesses at the scene reported that the driver was able to exit the vehicle unaided. Images currently circulating on social media show the overturned car surrounded by onlookers and emergency personnel.
At this stage, the exact cause of the accident remains unknown, and authorities have yet to confirm whether any other individuals were involved or affected by the incident.
