Man arrested in Gandia for sharing explicit photos of baby and underage stepdaughter

The National Police have arrested a 39-year-old Spanish man in Gandia accused of producing and distributing sexually explicit images of his baby and taking intimate photographs of his partner’s underage daughter without consent. Following his arrest, the suspect was placed in provisional custody without bail by order of the court.

The investigation began in August when officers from the Central Cybercrime Unit detected explicit images of an infant posted on paedophile internet forums. Cybercrime specialists tracked the source of the content to the municipality of Gandia after analysing specific details in the uploaded files, including a photograph showing a infant partially covered by a blanket with embedded timestamp data.

Further analysis of the online forums revealed additional intimate images of a 16-year-old girl holding the same infant. Alongside these images, the uploader made online claims boasting about drugging and abusing the teenager. These findings prompted urgent intervention by investigators from Group IV of the Minor Protection Unit to safeguard the children involved.

Officers executed a search at the home of the suspect’s partner in Gandia. Upon searching the property, National Police found the suspect hiding inside a bedroom wardrobe in an attempt to evade arrest. At the time of his apprehension, the man was wearing the exact same shorts visible in the abuse images of the infant, and officers identified the property as the location where the images were produced.

During police questioning, the 16-year-old stepdaughter stated that she had never been abused or drugged and was completely unaware of the existence of the photographs or their publication on online forums.

The arrested man has prior police records for similar offences dating back to 2014 in Galicia and 2023 in Gandia, though neither case resulted in a conviction. He now faces charges for the production and distribution of child pornography, as well as offences against privacy for revealing secrets.
