La Finca Golf, located in Algorfa, has consolidated its position among the elite names of Spanish golf by securing 13th place nationwide in the latest prestige ranking produced by the specialised publication Golf Digest. This is the second consecutive edition in which the course has held this spot, further establishing it as the top-ranked golf venue across the entire province of Alicante.
The placement achieved by La Finca Golf strengthens the prominent role that the province of Alicante continues to hold within the national golf landscape. It arrives during a particularly busy operational period for the layout. Throughout July and August, its facilities alongside those of Villamartín Golf hosted the four qualifying events for the 7th La Finca Resort Circuit. The competition attracted 402 amateur players, logging a total of 751 round starts.
The amateur qualifying stage launched on 17th and 18th July at La Finca Golf with 183 participants, before moving to Villamartín Golf for two subsequent rounds on 7th and 8th August (202 players) and 14th and 15th August (186 players). The qualifying process wrapped up back at La Finca Golf on 28th and 29th August, welcoming 180 competitors.
The circuit now moves to its decisive phase, where 45 players will contest the grand final on 12th and 13th December at La Finca Golf. The two-day tournament will be played over 36 holes. Qualification for this final showcase was awarded based on category results during the qualifiers and via the Regularity Award, which was allocated to participants who played in all four events without securing a direct spot.
This standing in the Golf Digest index arrives alongside extensive updates to the venue’s infrastructure. Recent investments include a total refurbishment of the pro-shop at La Finca Golf, designed to enhance the player experience and broaden the services available before and after a round.
Furthermore, the resort has joined the R&A Sustainable Agronomy Venue programme, receiving specialised independent advice based on scientific criteria and cutting-edge technology to advance sustainable turf management while elevating quality standards.
