The Ayuntamiento de Orihuela will launch a new commercial campaign running from 24 to 26 September aimed at encouraging shopping in local businesses through a programme of free family activities. Organised by the Department of Commerce under councillor Vicente Pina, the initiative will visit various areas across the city over three consecutive days.
The schedule brings together street entertainment, live shows, children’s workshops, and sports activities with the goal of drawing residents and visitors to the main shopping areas of the municipality and supporting the economic activity of independent establishments.
Commerce councillor Vicente Pina explained that through this initiative, the department seeks to reinforce ties between the local retail sector in Orihuela and the community, creating meeting points across different areas of the city and helping to energise the local economy through leisure activities open to all ages. Pina also highlighted that these events are not isolated, but form part of a broader commitment by the commerce department to generate incentives that bring customers to local shops.
The campaign starts on Thursday 24 September at Plaza Nueva and Centuria Romana, featuring children’s workshops, background music, and street animation.
On Friday 25 September, activities move to Calle Mayor and Patriarca Antioquía, where the programme will include a 360-degree photocall, a giant piano, a K-Pop show, children’s workshops, background music, and street animation.
The final day takes place on Saturday 26 September at Parque Severo Ochoa, with an emphasis on sports and family leisure. Visitors will be able to take part in 3×3 basketball, archery, and speedball, as well as enjoy a 360-degree photocall and storytelling sessions.
All scheduled activities will run from 17:00 to 20:00, are completely free of charge, and are open to members of the public of all ages. Through this campaign, the local authority aims to create fresh appeal in commercial areas and encourage spending in local businesses by offering community-wide leisure events.
