A 77-year-old man has successfully recovered his vital signs after suffering a fall in the shower at his home in San Vicente del Raspeig and becoming unconscious. The swift intervention of emergency services enabled resuscitation manoeuvres to begin, with a Guardia Civil officer trained in first aid also participating.
The 112 emergency service centre alerted authorities that a man had fallen in the shower and was unresponsive. A Guardia Civil patrol from San Vicente del Raspeig, SAMU and Basic Life Support personnel, local police and firefighters were dispatched to the home.
Emergency teams initially encountered difficulties entering the property, requiring firefighters to intervene to facilitate internal access. Once alongside the affected individual, medical staff commenced cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres.
During the assistance, a Guardia Civil officer alternated with medical personnel to maintain CPR thanks to first aid training. The manoeuvres continued until emergency teams managed to recover the man’s vital signs.
Subsequently, personnel had to collaborate to transfer him onto a stretcher. The procedure proved particularly complicated due to the weight of the individual and the confined dimensions of the home. Finally, an ambulance evacuated him urgently to hospital.
