A major international police operation codenamed Showtime has resulted in twenty arrests across multiple locations, including one suspect detained in Elche, as authorities dismantled a major network dedicated to supplying cocaine to other criminal organisations.
The extensive investigation, which featured cooperation from the Guardia Civil alongside international bodies such as Europol and the United States DEA, tracked the group’s logistics and distribution network. Investigators gathered evidence of multiple supply runs conducted in August, using specially modified vehicles equipped with hidden compartments to move illicit substances.
During the coordinated raids, officers searched numerous storage locations and residential properties, uncovering substantial quantities of drugs, including roughly twenty-two and twelve kilograms of cocaine recovered from two separate addresses in Barcelona and Sant Boi de Llobregat respectively. Authorities also seized around seven kilograms of boric acid used as a cutting agent, alongside ten precision scales, hydraulic presses, and vacuum-sealing machinery.
In total, sixteen vehicles were impounded by law enforcement, two of which featured mechanical double bottoms designed for smuggling. The suspect detained in Elche joins nineteen others facing serious charges as legal proceedings continue.
