Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport will feature two new Ryanair routes for the summer 2027 season. The Irish budget carrier has announced the addition of Naples in Italy and Tangier in Morocco to its summer schedule, with tickets for both services already placed on sale.
The two connections are part of a broader set of 29 new routes announced by the low-cost airline on Friday, 9th October, marking the initial release of its upcoming summer programme. Among the additions are flights serving other Spanish airports, including Málaga, Sevilla, and Reus.
The carrier confirmed that reservations for the new services can be made via its website and mobile app. However, the official statement did not outline the weekly flight frequencies or specific start dates for the departures out of Alicante.
The introduction of Naples and Tangier will expand travel options from the Alicante terminal during the 2027 summer period. Located in southern Italy, Naples stands as one of the country’s primary tourist destinations, known for its UNESCO World Heritage historic centre and proximity to locations such as Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.
Tangier will bolster air links between Alicante and Morocco. Positioned along the Strait of Gibraltar, the city is recognized for its medina, historic heritage, and location between the Mediterranean and Atlantic. The new connections are also expected to facilitate incoming travel for Italian and Moroccan visitors heading to the Costa Blanca during the peak holiday season.
Alicante is among four Spanish airports selected for new route additions. Beside the two destinations from Alicante, Ryanair has placed tickets on sale for Málaga to Norwich, Memmingen to Sevilla, and Newcastle to Reus. In total, five of the initial 29 routes involve Spanish airports, with Alicante securing two, whilst Málaga, Sevilla, and Reus account for one apiece.
The remaining route expansion spans various European countries and North African destinations, establishing connections across Italy, Poland, Greece, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Morocco.
With this initial release, Ryanair has begun shaping its schedule for the 2027 summer season, where it plans to operate more than 2,500 routes across 230 destinations. Ryanair Chief Marketing Officer Dara Brady stated that the announced routes represent only the first additions to the summer 2027 timetable, noting that further services will be introduced as the airline continues to expand its route network across Europe.
