The Councillor for Markets in Orihuela, Manuel Gallud from the Los Verdes, has been consulting with his legal team with a view to take action for slander against the CLR spokesman Pedro Mancebo.
According to Gallud, Mancebo claims that the decision to move the market in Orihuela was entirely based on Gallud wanted to satisfy and increase the business interests of his friends.
Gallud has insisted that Mancebo publically withdraws the statement, or face the consequences through the courts. Gallud said, “With good faith, I give (Mancebo) the opportunity to rectify the claims in public”, before taking the matter further.
The moving of the markets in the city of Orihuela has been an ongoing issue, with the PP and Clr wanting to keep the locations as they are, whereas the government team wanted to move the market, and had the overall support of the majority of market traders.
