Officers from the National Police have caught and arrested two European fugitives, one wanted by the authorities in the UK, the other in Belgium, the first arrested in Benidorm, the second in Torrevieja.
Investigators had learnt about the presence of the two men, both in their 40´s, and the existence of extradition and surrender notices.
As a result, specialist officers from Alicante established a presence in both towns, in order to locate the two individuals. After just a few days, the location of both men was ascertained.
The British national arrested in Benidorm was wanted in connection with at least ten crimes, nine of which were burglary, the other for theft. There were also outstanding reports of potential cases of violence towards women and attempted murder.
The second detainee, of Belgian origin, was arrested in the town of Torrevieja. He was part of a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking, acting as a mediator to South America.
