
The government spokesperson for Orihuela, Carolina Gracia, has announced the approval for the construction of 167 new build homes on the Orihuela Costa.
In total, seven construction licences have been issued to a number of different companies, who will build the homes over five different zones within the coastal zone. There will be four fases of construction in the PAU-3 area, consisting of 33, 35, 36 and 38 units, and a block of 21 homes in the Lomas de Campoamor. There will also be two new homes constructed in La Zenia and one in the E-2 El Barranco area.
In addition to these new buildings, the urbanism department has also studied 22 cases of infractions of planning law, of which 19 have resulted in a demolition order, the remainder being the subject of correction or penalty payments.
