The Orihuela Costa and District Branch of The Royal British Legion were at The Emerald Isle on Thursday 23 April to celebrate Saint Georges Day.
The day started with a parade by the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums leading the way. This was followed by standards of the Branch, the Royal Naval Association, the Royal Marines Association and the Royal Air Force Association. The highlight of the parade was heralded by the Chelsea Pensioners from London who came over especially for the event. All association members then marched to the Emerald Isle.
Eddie Coleman the Branch Vice Chairman and organiser of the day welcomed everyone and invited The Counsellor for the coast Martina Scheurer to officially open the event.
There were many stalls which were kept very busy throughout the day along with many acts. The afternoon the was hosted by Simon Morton.
Finally the raffle was drawn and the day raised €850.00. Thank you for everyone who supported the day.
