My name is Dermott Gardner. I have Motor Neuron disease and Parkinson`s. I have realized although there are some specific large organizations for certain well known conditions.
There is no support for those with unusual neurological issues.
I wanted to start the group as regardless of the condition, neurological patients are confronted with sometimes similar side effects and obstacles of everyday life.
As well as the language barriers of healthcare living here in Spain with a illness.
We have already had one meeting and are looking to meet others who suffer from any neurological condition. In fact there are over 600 neurological diseases and conditions.
The meetings are designed to be informal, where we can offer peer help as well as occasional guest speakers.
The next meeting is on the 22nd June at the Cosmopolitan bar in El Galan on Calle Pico Lobo. The guest speaker will be from the Help at Home, a local charity organization here on the Costa Blanca. For any information please call 617 214 313
