Four days after a 54-year-old British man went missing from his room at a private hospital in Benidorm, he was found dead in a construction area at the hospital. He had been admitted for surgery, and all signs point to him having died accidentally from asphyxiation after getting stuck in a hole.
His wife reported his disappearance on February 7th. At first, it was considered that he had left the hospital on his own, as sources from the National Police said.
The case was handed over to the Judicial Police at the Benidorm Police Station. They looked at the footage from the hospital cameras, which showed that the man had entered through a part of the centre that was still being built.
It seems that the Briton tried to fit through a hole and was stuck there. He would have perished from lack of air because of the way his body was positioned, and the agents located him four days after he went missing, on February 11th, according to the same reports.
