The Elche (Alicante) police have arrested a 38-year-old man who is suspected of making a serious threat with a knife against a VTC (Private Hire) driver at the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport. A witness called the municipal police and said that a man “was threatening” the driver by putting a knife to his neck.
The police sent a patrol to the airport terminal. When the police got there, they locked down the area and quickly found the man and the driver. The victim told the Elche City Council that the detainee had climbed into his car and, after reminding him of an incident they had the day before, taken out a revolver and threatened to kill him. The police officers only looked at the suspect and found a ceramic knife with a red handle and a white blade, which was exactly what the driver had described.
Both sides agree that there was a fight the day before when the driver refused to continue a service because the customer was drunk. The city council noted, “The detainee said he had lost some of his things to justify his return to the airport, which he said was an attempt to scare the driver.” The Local Police took the detainee to police facilities right away after locating the weapon and establishing the facts so that the court could use them.
