The Levante Dike will be entirely reopened tomorrow, Saturday, March 28th, following the completion of its modernisation. This includes the replacement of safety and protection elements, improvements to the pedestrian walkway, and new continuous paving. Additionally, the promenade has been equipped with a high-efficiency public lighting system, which not only enhances the aesthetic allure but also enhances visibility and safety at night.
The company CHM OBRAS E INFRAESTRUCTURAS SA completed the repaving and maintenance work on this cantilevered walkway, which spans 1,247 linear metres and required a total investment of 6,543,733 euros (VAT INCLUDED).
The new dam’s distinctive elements
The implementation of a prefabricated concrete bench, which is specifically designed for this promenade and functions as a breakwater, is one of the most notable features of the project. This bench integrates urban design and protection from the sea. The breakwater is a new visual landmark on the Torrevieja littoral, thanks to an innovative RGB lighting system that provides it with a dynamic, attractive, and distinctive appearance at night. In addition, the transition and access areas have been enhanced, providing a more expansive and open space from which to appreciate the coastal environment and the sea.

Phased implementation to reduce impact
The City Council has implemented a system of partial openings during the construction process, which enables citizens to gradually use the promenade as the project advances.
With the final transition, the Levante Dock is now fully operational and accessible to the public, solidifying its status as a significant destination for leisure, tourism, and the enjoyment of both residents and visitors.
Fondos next generation
The Architectural Lighting project is funded by the recovery, transformation, and resilience plan, as well as the Next Generation funds. It is a component of the tourism sustainability plan in the destination, which is being developed in collaboration with the Secretary of State for Tourism and the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, and Commerce through Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, with a total cost of 895,073 euros.
