Torrevieja City Council’s Parks and Gardens Department has completed an improvement project in the El Limonar area, specifically in the green area adjacent to Calle Rafael Antón and parallel to the CV-905, with the goal of continuing to advance in the adaptation and enhancement of the municipality’s urban spaces. Obviously this is directly opposite the much-publicised TM La Hoya housing developement.
Over the last few days, teams have planted approximately 200 mulberry trees, a species that is especially well-suited to urban surroundings due to its strong tolerance to weather, rapid growth, and capacity to provide enough shade. This programme will improve thermal comfort in the neighbourhood, boost tree canopy, and encourage the development of more attractive and liveable areas for residents.
Councilwoman Concha Sala, who managed the project, notes that it was finished with the renovation of street furniture, which included the replacement of 12 benches, increasing user service, accessibility, and usefulness of the space.
These initiatives are part of continuing interventions in many regions of the city with the goal of providing more caring, sustainable settings that are tailored to the needs of inhabitants.
The council asks everyone to respect both the new plantings and the street furniture, which will help to ensure their proper upkeep and conservation.
These types of initiatives contribute to the creation of a greener, more accessible, and pleasant city, thereby improving the quality of life in its public places.
