The plans for a new photovoltaic solar plant in the Vega Baja area have taken another step forward. The Territorial Service of Industry, Energy and Mines of Alicante has opened the public consultation phase for the preliminary administrative and construction authorisation requests for the “FV Vitalii Pokydko 2MW” facility. This two-megawatt power installation is planned for the municipality of Algorfa, with a material execution budget totalling 982,640.75 euro.
The project is being promoted by the commercial company Proaltsol S.L., which has its registered office in Torrevieja. The development involves setting up the solar plant across plots within industrial estate 3 of Algorfa, alongside building the necessary infrastructure to transport the generated energy directly to the distribution grid.
According to the official documents released for public inspection, the facility will feature a nominal capacity of 2 MW, though the maximum power of the photovoltaic modules will reach 2,464 kW. The plant will comprise 4,480 solar panels of 550 peak watts each, which are to be mounted on fixed structures driven into the ground. It will also utilise eight 250 kW inverters. The electricity generated will be raised to 20 kV through a 2,500 kVA transformation centre before being sent onwards.
The connected electrical infrastructure includes underground high-voltage lines running to a protection and measurement centre, leading to a remote-controlled switching station that connects to the network operated by I-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes. Parts of these setups, including the switching station and a 20 kV underground line, will be handed over to the distribution firm. The connection point will link into the 220 kV Rojales transport node.
Alongside the technical plans, the submission includes a landscape integration study, environmental documents, a decommissioning and land restoration plan, and a statement confirming compliance with the criteria set out by Decree Law 14/2020 for installing renewable energy systems in the Valencian Community. Consultation reports have also been requested from Algorfa Council, I-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, and the Segura Hydrographic Confederation.
As the installation has a power capacity under 10 MW, the procedure will be treated with priority and processed through an urgent framework as allowed under Decree Law 14/2020. This cuts the administrative deadlines in half, except for those relating to submitting requests and appeals.
The public announcement gives a period of 15 working days for any individuals or organisations who consider themselves affected to review the documentation and submit any formal objections they deem appropriate before the administrative processing of the project continues.
