A judge has ordered provisional prison without bail for a man accused of murdering his partner, Lourdes, and one of his daughters, Lucia, in the Alicante area. The suspect is also accused of injuring another daughter during the incident, which took place in the Alicante hamlet of La Canada del Fenollar on Thursday evening, 2nd July.
The magistrate, accompanied by a judicial commission, travelled to the hospital where the suspect remains admitted to take his statement, according to the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community.
The arrested man is initially being investigated for two crimes of murder and one crime of attempted murder. Security forces will take him directly to a prison facility as soon as he is discharged from hospital.
As a precautionary measure, the magistrate has also issued a restraining order. The suspect is banned from coming within 500 metres of the surviving daughter whom he allegedly injured, as well as her home, workplace, place of study, or any other area she frequents. He is also prohibited from communicating with her by any means.
The judge from the third court of the Violence Against Women Section of the Instance Tribunal of Alicante has agreed to hand over the proceedings to the second court of the same section, which had already opened preliminary proceedings and holds competence to continue the investigation.
