A joint operation by the Local Police and the Regional Police at various public establishments in Calpe has resulted in a significant number of infractions being uncovered. During the inspections, officers looked into compliance with current regulations in the municipality’s nightlife and entertainment venues, revealing multiple administrative and safety issues.
The inspections resulted in twelve official complaints. Among these were six complaints for minor infractions and two for serious infractions of the Law on Public Spectacles, Recreational Activities, and Public Establishments. Officers also issued two complaints for the illegal possession of narcotic substances. Furthermore, one complaint was filed regarding the employment of a worker with an irregular administrative status, in breach of immigration regulations, while another complaint was issued for violating the municipal ordinance on public space occupation.
Behind the administrative terminology, the Calpe Local Police detailed that the inspections uncovered various safety and health irregularities. These included issues with emergency exits, problems with the limiting and control systems for sound equipment, and the installation of an outdoor terrace on the public highway without the necessary municipal licence.
The police have stated that these operations will continue to be carried out periodically to ensure compliance with the rules, strengthen security, and contribute to safe and responsible leisure in the municipality.
