Three men aged 20, 21 and 46 have been arrested by the National Police in Orihuela as alleged perpetrators of robbery with violence in two separate police operations.
In the first operation, a man was linked to three assaults committed against women. The initial investigation began after the victims, two of whom were elderly, filed complaints. The first incident happened when a woman was about to enter her home, and a detainee approached her, yanked her purse forcefully, and fled after a struggle. Four hours later, a second assault took place when an elderly woman walking alone was pushed to the ground by the same individual, who stole her purse. A third incident involved a woman who was followed, approached, and robbed of her purse following a struggle. Due to the similarities in the modus operandi, officers gathered information and identified the perpetrator, who public safety officers subsequently detained.
In a second police operation, two other men were arrested for a violent robbery against a man. The victim was walking along a public street when approached from behind by one of the perpetrators who applied a chokehold, causing the victim to fall. Both assailants continued to beat him and stole his belongings, including a chain from his neck and his mobile phone. Following an investigation, officers identified the two men, located them, and arrested them as suspected perpetrators of robbery with violence.
Following police procedures, the detainees have been placed at the disposal of the duty investigating court of Orihuela.
