A quiet day on a Benidorm beach took an unexpected turn when a shop owner found a chair worth 45 euro lying on the sand, which he claimed had been stolen from his store. The surprise grew when she also located the woman who had supposedly taken her, who was calmly bathing in the sea at the time.
The incident was explained by Fran Carneros on Instagram, where he recounted events based on images shared by Xu, the owner of the affected establishment. The shopkeeper decided to go to the beach after locating the missing item and filmed the entire scene while waiting for officers to arrive. According to subtitles in the footage, Xu explained that he had found the chair and was waiting for the police to clarify what happened.
Shortly after, the woman got out of the water and stated that her husband had bought the chair the day before. The situation changed with the arrival of the police. Initially, the woman told officers that it could be due to a lapse in concentration and explained they had just arrived in Benidorm. “It was a misunderstanding,” she said in the video while trying to explain how the chair ended up on the beach.
However, the store owner claimed a security camera recording showed the woman taking the chair from the establishment and leaving with it. A striking detail was that the chair still had the store label attached, which the shopkeeper showed during the recording to easily identify the item. The item had a marked price of 45 euro.
This is not the only incident Xu has decided to make public. As the video explains, the shopkeeper often shares recordings on his account of people he catches allegedly stealing from his store. This time, the search ended in one of the busiest places in Benidorm: the beach.
